ORPHANED GIRL BURNT WITH HOT WATER BY HER KEEPER IN AN ARGUMENT OVER DISAPPEARED PART OF FOOD

A twelve years old girl,student of Wazo Hill Primary School in Dar Es Salaam,has claimed that she was burnt with hot water by her niece, Saum Masudi.

The little girl whose name is Dora said she faced that kind of atrocity few days ago in the Wazo area where she lives with Saum, her niece, and keeper after the death of her father.

In her account of the tragedy Dora said that in the morning of that day she woke up early and cleaned the house and in that course visited the den where they keep ducks to clean it.

"After finishing with cleanliness I went inside the main house and found thick porridge which was left over since yesterday.I took few slabs off and gave them to ducks in the den,my sister (niece) was asleep at the time.When she woke up,she found  the thick porridge was halved so she demanded to know what happened to the food.I told her that I served some to our ducks.She didn`t believe me,so she pulled me to the den to prove it.At the time we arrive at the den,there was nothing, the food was long been eaten by ducks.She called me a liar,and started to tie my hands and legs together.After that she splashed very hot water around my body."

She said she was wounded in different parts of her body and she never received instant medical care after that.After few days the wounds started to rot and stink until the day one of her relatives paid a visit and wanted to shave her untidy hair.In the process the relative told her to take off the T-shirt she was wearing so it doesn`t get covered by her falling hair.That`s when the relative came to the horrific scene of stinking wounds.After recovering from her shock of the day, the relative wanted to know what really happened .Dora explained it all and Dora`s keeper fled the house immediatelly.

After the news of her miseries broke it`s boundaries,Dora said a good samaritan Kauthari Isack who was  emotinally touched by Dora`s story took her to the Police station and then to hospital for medical care.Kauthari confirmed that she helped Dora to hospital after becaming emotinally very touched by her story

"I took her firstly to the police station to get Police Form 3 so she could be accepted by medical staff at the hospital, and people at the police station opened a case no.KW/RB/6034/2013.The search for suspect has just begun and they (police) have husband of the suspect to help the search.

The Kinondoni Regional Police Commander ACP Camillius Wambura has confirmed the incident regarding Dora inflictions and of the ongoing searching of the suspect

"I warn all members of the public, that this kind of cruelty can not be tolerated.People should refrain from doing such things, because we have severe punishment in store for this"
